Rubber Soul: THE Beatles Tribute in Dallas, TX

To find out more about our personal lives, torrid fantasies and fresh baked bread, take your little cursor and pretend that you're picking our noses. Its fun! We do it daily just to relieve stress!

Tom Geddes

Tom is one of Rubber Soul's lead vocalists and guitarists and as such, has some very large shoes to fill. He performs the John Lennon parts and he does it VERY well. His voice is reminiscent of John Lennon's especially when doing the big rockers like "Twist and Shout" and "Money", but he also does a great job on the ballads such as "Girl" and "In My Life". To get that vintage Beatle sound, Tom uses a Rickenbacker guitar and a Vox AC30 and he is as strong a rhythm player as any band could ask for. In fact, he's also a fine lead player but only gets to do this as often as Lennon did which wasn't often.

Tom has been playing in bands in the Dallas area for over 15 years. His band, Stations, was voted the best cover band in Dallas in 1985. With Stations, Tom played lead and rhythm guitar and held down his share of the vocals. Whenever a Beatles song was called for, Tom invariably sang it because his voice is so similar to Lennon's. Tom spends a lot of his free time writing and is often called on by his musician friends to lend a hand on a recording. He also works as vice president of Nation's Oil Corporation (in his other spare time) and would gladly sell you the by-products of fossilized dinosaurs.

Tim Tiernan

The unique voice and guitar of George Harrison are performed by Tim. Tim is meticulous in his recreations of George's guitar work. He spends hours getting every note exactly right. He openly admits that he has WAY too much time on his hands and that's why he's able to do this. As if the notes weren't enough, he also creates the guitar sounds as closely as possible. To perform all of the Beatle catalog, a guitarist has to have a LOT of sounds at his disposal. Tim says there's no magic involved. Just a lot of vintage and modern electronics being employed by a man of "moderate intelligence and average skill".

Tim has played in many bands in the area including rock, country, and big band jazz groups. In Rubber Soul, Tim plays guitar, harmonica and piano as needed. He's also responsible for programming the synthesizers used to recreate the big production numbers such as "I am the Walrus" and "Strawberry Fields". On "Walrus", the results are astounding. Tim will note that "the Beatles never even did that one live!"

Pete Sacco

No Beatle cover act would be complete without a left-handed bass player who can sing like a lark or scream like a banshee. Rubber Soul has theirs in Pete Sacco. Pete was an accomplished bass player before joining Rubber Soul, but he played right-handed. When the other guys offered the McCartney position to Pete, he decided that it would be wrong if he played right-handed. So he locked himself in his room for several days and didn't come out until he could play left-handed. The first rehearsals were pretty rough. But Pete, always willing to accept a challenge, kept at it until he could play every bass lick Paul recorded. Singing was never an issue for Pete. From the get go, he could sing everything from "Blackbird" to "Oh Darling". And you have to hear him do "Oh Darling"!

Like the others, Pete is no stranger to the Dallas music scene. He has been playing for years. In the past, Pete was involved in other Beatles acts where he played guitar and sang the Lennon vocals. Being a multi-instrumentalist and a vocal chameleon allows him to do whatever Paul did including singing, and playing bass (left-handed) and keyboards. Pete will tell you that he plays the piano left handed too.

Brett Geddes

As you might have guessed by their names, Tom and Brett are brothers. They have been playing in bands together for a very long time. Tom has been very lucky in that regard, because Brett is the kind of drummer that every band wants. He plays the groove and never gets too fancy. As the backbone of Rubber Soul, Brett lays down the same solid beat that Ringo was noted for. And like Tom, Brett is a fine singer. He does some great covers of the Ringo songs such as "I Wanna Be Your Man" and "Boys". And to top it off, Brett is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet.

Brett is the true artist of the group. As well as being a great musician, he is an accomplished graphics art designer. He has done most of the art design for the band including the logos, pictures and promo packages. He has also done a considerable amount of studio work in the Dallas area and is known for his tasty, straight forward playing. Brett prefers the Beatles to the blues and will never turn down a loaf of fresh baked bread!
